# Sora 2 and Sora 2 Pro models discontinued

> OpenAI is discontinuing the Sora API on September 24, 2026. Both Sora 2 and Sora 2 Pro have been removed from the Image & Video model picker and will stop generating on that date. Developers using these models must migrate to alternatives such as Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash.
